Update: 11:00am, Tuesday 24th March 2020

ASM Global has been closely following the federal and state governments’ management of the COVID-19 outbreak, and takes seriously our responsibility for the health and well-being of our patrons, performers, athletes, clients and employees coming to Qudos Bank Arena.

As you are aware, the Corona Virus or COVID-19 is an evolving situation. Here are some fast facts from the Federal Government surrounding public safety:
  • A ban has been imposed on non-essential mass gatherings indoors of 100+ and this number includes staff and contractors in addition to guests;
  • Australia is now closed to all non-citizens and non-residents plus an imposed 14 day mandatory self-isolation for anyone entering Australia;
  • A recommendation against non-essential domestic and absolutely no travel overseas; severe restrictions will be put on aged care visitation;
  • Social interactions must change – with handshakes and hugs urged to stop outside of family members and recommended social distancing of at least 1.5 metres;
  • Prepare for the future, as schools and universities will likely close; and Stay calm and don’t indulge in over-buying household goods and supplies.

Following the initial announcement by the Prime Minister, we made contact with the promoters of concerts/ organisers of events in Qudos Bank Arena to discuss the potential to reschedule those events that will be affected by these government restrictions.

We have announced events that have been rescheduled already, including 2 that have been unfortunately cancelled completely.
We will announced the remaining rescheduled events as soon as direction comes from those Tour Promoters and Artists about availability to return to Australia and perform for all of us here in Sydney.

Whilst we have been anticipating a variety of scenarios, it will take some time to resolve the arrangements for each event, and work within Public Health Warnings to ensure that all our events are approved to go ahead.
It is our intent to be able to advise patrons expecting to attend such events of the new arrangements as quickly as possible.

This will be done via our web site and through notification directly to ticket holders via Ticketek.
Should a ticketed event be cancelled altogether, refunds will be automatically made, directly to the original payment account.
All ticket sales proceeds are held securely by Qudos Bank Arena and are available for return to Ticketek to enable the refunds.

Due to the number of events affected and consequently the numbers of patrons involved, we would appreciate your patience in not calling us or Ticketek, and look out for the information to appear on our web site and across our social media:
Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Thanks
Your Qudos Bank Arena Team

Message from Rod Smallwood/Iron Maiden:

Aussie and Kiwi Troopers,

We are hugely disappointed not to be seeing our fans in Australia and New Zealand in May due to the understandable Government concert bans surrounding Coronavirus. Sadly these are difficult and uncertain times for us all.

We still intend to bring this great Legacy Of The Beast show to you all as soon as we can and I promise we will do everything we can to achieve this with our promoters and subject to what is happening around us globally

Take care of yourselves, be safe and be smart.

SO POP 2020 TO NO LONGER PROCEED THIS APRIL-MAY

It is with a heavy heart that Frontier Touring and Arena Touring announce that So Pop 2020 will no longer be taking place in Australia and New Zealand this April and May. Due to policies and measures put in place by the Australian Government regarding COVID-19, the promoters of the ultimate pop concert deem it infeasible for the show to go on.

The procedures in play, with government legislation banning indoor gatherings of over 100 people in Australia as well as 14-day self-isolation for the arrival of international travellers, have led to the heartbreaking conclusion that So Pop 2020 will not proceed as planned. It is with extreme devastation this announcement is made with our team having worked tirelessly to produce a world-class event for fans across Australia and New Zealand.

Tickets purchased online or via phone will be automatically refunded in full via the ticketing agent to the cardholder. Patrons should allow approximately 20 business days for refunds to appear in their account, ticketholders need not take any further action.

Ticketek AU customers whose credit or debit card has been permanently closed/cancelled or the card has expired, please supply updated bank details here. Patrons who purchased tickets in an Agency using cash or EFTPOS will receive a full refund to a bank account. You can provide bank accounts details here. A MESSAGE FROM THE KILLERS:

A quick note to say that tickets for our late summer/fall shows will not be going on sale just yet. The news is changing every hour around Coronavirus and, ultimately, we want you, our fans, to stay focused on prevention and remaining safe and cautious right now.

In addition, once we go on sale, we will be providing a portion of our ticketing income to local organizations who help people whose service industry jobs are impacted by the Coronavirus in each of our tour cities. We are taking this personally. Both we and our families have had these jobs and our hearts go out to those affected.

If anything changes again, we'll let you know; in the meantime, we're more excited than ever to sing these new songs with you, and can't wait to see you soon. Watch this space for the updated ticket information!

Update: 2pm AWST, Thursday 12th March 2020

WHAT ARE WE DOING ABOUT COVID-19 RISKS:

We have introduced additional procedures around our operations based on the current recommendations. We have increased our infection mitigation routines throughout the Arena, including the following:
  • Our cleaning team is cleaning and disinfecting all points of contact on an increased rotation particularly during the times we host patrons in the venue.
  • For our everyday sanitation and disinfectant of all hard surfaces throughout public areas, we use recommended cleaning solutions that are, at a minimum, 60% alcohol-based.  These have proven anti-viral/bacterial properties and are a hospital grade application.  With each application, a different micro-fibre cloth is used to avoid any cross-contamination between surfaces.
  • Hand sanitiser with similar anti-viral properties is available at a number of convenient locations around the venue. Authorities also suggest we all carry a personal dispenser of sanitiser with us at all times.
  • Additional precautions are being taken in all food preparation and handling areas to prevent cross-contamination.
  • All staff working in direct contact with patrons e.g. security at turnstiles, will be issued with gloves and provisioned to make regular changes during their shift.
  • We have appropriate stocks of all products on hand at the venue.
  • We are communicating closely with all personnel engaged at the Arena to avoid the introduction of any infection by any of them.  We have given clear instructions that anyone exhibiting flu-like symptoms or who has been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case, is to stay at home in isolation for at least 14 days and present a medical certificate before returning to work.
  • We have mounted an in-house campaign in support of good health etiquette amongst all our team.
Should there be any change from the government guidance regarding major events in Australia, we are in contact and working with health authorities so as to be ready to respond to their advice.

YOU CAN PLAY YOUR PART TOO:

We ask our patrons to similarly exercise responsibility for the health and well-being of themselves and their fellow patrons with the following suggestions:
  • If you are sick or exhibiting any flu-like symptoms (including fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue or shortness of breath), please do not attend the event.  Pass your tickets to a friend.
  • If you or a close family member have returned from a country or region that has been affected by COVID-19 or is the subject of an Australian Government travel warning, within the past two weeks, you should not attend the event.  Pass your tickets to a friend.
  • If you sneeze (despite not exhibiting symptoms prior to attending!), please capture all droplets in either your inner-elbow or a large tissue.  Please dispose of this immediately in a suitable rubbish receptacle or a toilet.  Please wash and/or sanitize your hands immediately.
  • Please limit your physical contact with other patrons including shaking hands, hugging and kissing cheeks etc.  Maintain some space around you to the extent possible.
  • Please be careful to not share drink containers and other opportunities for germs to spread with anyone else.  Keep food covered and eat it as soon as practical.
  • Please wash your hands immediately prior to leaving the toilets, every time you visit the facilities.
  • Please use some hand sanitizer every time you pass a dispenser.
  • Consider carrying your own personal dispenser of sanitiser with you at all times.
  • Should you feel ill during the event, please distance yourself from other patrons, take care not to spread germs to the best of your ability and either return home or report to your usual medical facility.  Whilst the Arena has First Aid facilities, we are not equipped to diagnose a virus nor to treat suspected infections in required isolation.

TICKETING QUERIES:

Should the promoter decide to cancel the event, please be assured that all monies from ticket sales are being held securely.  Refunds will proceed automatically, directly to the original payment account, as soon as the promoter’s contract is formally cancelled.
